ATLANTA, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Monday, AssistX announced it launched TestPolicy, a first-of-its-kind device management app for testing on Windows 8 devices. TestPolicy provides educators with a simple and secure online test administration experience that exceeds all current standards set forth by standardized assessments such as Common Core State Standards from Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium and Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC).
With a single click by the teacher or test proctor, TestPolicy seamlessly takes control and prepares all connected devices for testing by locking the device and closing down open applications, preventing students from accessing anything except the test or allowed apps such as a calculator. While testing is in progress, the proctor can easily manage the devices, monitor test progression, and identify when batteries run low.
"Online testing with next-generation devices pose unique technical challenges for schools, and TestPolicy addresses these providing the best online testing experience for educators," said Bob Chung, President of AssistX. "Our mission at AssistX is to simplify technology for educators. With TestPolicy, we accomplish exactly that by anticipating and meeting their online testing needs."
As part of the launch, AssistX will provide all U.S. educational institutions with a free subscription of TestPolicy for the 2014-2015 school year. They can sign up now on the TestPolicy website and will be contacted this fall to begin deployment. Educators also have the option of a currently available single-device trial.
"Testing is a critical component to ensure students are successfully prepared for the future. TestPolicy, which is a new app unique to the Windows platform, provides a simple and effective testing experience for teachers," said Margo Day, vice president, U.S. Education, Microsoft Corp. "This game-changing application puts teachers in control and gives them peace of mind that each test is secure and compliant to virtually any testing platform."
