Birmingham police searching for mentally-challenged woman, 28 (update)

The 28-year-old north Birmingham woman who went missing last weekend has been located safe and unharmed, police said.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Authorities in Birmingham need help finding a mentally-challenged woman who went missing last weekend.

Dominique Denise James-Lattimore, 28, was last seen in north Birmingham at her apartment located at 3177 43rd Avenue North around 7 a.m. According to police, James-Lattimore's condition hasn't been taking her regular medication and her mental condition is worsening.

The woman's husband told police that it's unusual for his wife to leave their home alone.

Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to please call 911 immediately.

    Investigators in Gadsden said a man strangled his ex-girlfriend Tuesday evening before stabbing another man to death. Officers arrested 30-year-old William D'Angelo McKinney Wednesday night. He faces charges for murder and domestic violence with strangulation. Police said McKinney went to his ex-girlfriend's home in the Mill Village area and let himself in. Investigators said she asked him to leave, but he shoved her and then put her in a headlock until she blacked out.More >>
