BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Brian Darnell Epps, the man wanted for capital murder in the shooting death of his pregnant wife in Hoover last weekend, was taken into custody Tuesday night, ABC 33/40 has learned.

Epps, 29, was apprehended by US Marshals at a home on Alabama Avenue. He is accused of fatally shooting his wife -- 29-year-old Rashon Deidrenette Bester Epps who was three-months pregnant -- early Saturday morning at a home on Warringwood Drive. Epps had been on the run since the shooting.

Hoover police said the victim died from a gunshot wound to the head. Earlier in the day, relatives of the slain woman made a tearful plea for justice, urging Brian Epps to surrender to police.

ABC 33/40 will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information is made available.
