The driver, Paulette Childs, told ABC27 News she traveling on Walnut and saw the cyclist pedaling towards her. She said the woman vanished from view just before she turned left on Progress and heard a thump on her passenger side.

"I didn't know I hit her. I would've stopped back there. I didn't know what it was," Childs said, "Then my nerves just left me. I mean, I looked back out that window and I saw that girl laying there. I thought she was dead and I was scared to death. I went running with my phone, dialing 911. I was scared to death. I looked up and asked God, please God don't let her die."
