Gordon Waldhausen was in his South Annville Township home when he says loud thunder caught his attention Wednesday afternoon.
When Gordon looked outside, he saw heavy rain coming down sideways. He says it was nearly impossible to see beyond the rain, and the wind began to pick up.
Gordon says he thought his house was in the path of a tornado, so he rushed his children downstairs to the basement.
"The extent of the wind was such that you didn't know if it was a tornado or not," Waldhausen said. "I grabbed my kids as a precaution and it probably only lasted three minutes."
Waldhausen had a lot of downed trees and debris on his property and he will be getting help with cleanup efforts.
