Friends of alleged murder victim call for domestic violence awareness

Posted: Updated:
Close friends of Rashon Epps, 29, are calling on witnesses and victims of domestic violence to get help at the first sign of trouble.

Police say Epps, a pregnant mother of two small children, was killed early Saturday morning by her husband, Brian Darnell Epps, during a domestic dispute. Brian Epps is charged with capital murder for the crime and was apprehended Tuesday night.

Rashon Epps' co-workers at the Simply Gorgeous Salon in Birmingham tell ABC 33/40 they knew the couple had a rocky relationship. But they wish they had done more about the situation. In fact, Teresa Williams, a close friend of Epps, says the two often cried together about the physical abuse. Williams says she urged Epps to end the marriage, but she wishes she had done more.
