2 arrested after high-speed motorcycle chase

HAMPDEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) -

State police in Harrisburg arrested two individuals Saturday for multiple traffic violations, one of which included fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. 

Brian Figard, 38, of Halifax, and Amber Higgins, 31, of Camp Hill, were observed by state police speeding up to 27 mph over the set speed limit when officers attempted to make a traffic stop.  

According to police, both motorcyclists accelerated to speeds of up to 130 mph as they weaved in and out of traffic on Interstate 81 before being taken into custody at the Creekview Road exit in Hampden Twp. 

Each driver has been additionally charged with recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, speeding and numerous other traffic violations. 

Higgins was arraigned before a magisterial judge who set her bail at $25,000. Figard was taken to Dauphin County Prison for a probation/parole violation.
