AYLESBURY, England, July 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

£1.2m investment enables customers to evaluate the latest cyber-security protection, forensics and stress-testing solutions

Phoenix Datacom Limited has extended the capabilities of its Carrier and Mobile Network Operator cyber lab to provide real-world cyber-security protection solution demonstrations to UK Government and Enterprise network owners.

Originally used by Carriers and Mobile Network Operators for evaluating complex purpose-built monitoring solutions in a test lab environment, Phoenix Datacom's cyber lab now also houses Government & Enterprise-driven IT solutions from some of the world's leading solution vendors. For Cyber Security Protection, this includes:

  • Cloaking critical servers to 'go dark' - making sensitive data invisible to hackers
  • Secure remote access to critical information without the risks of VPN
  • Identifying and stopping intrusions at the network perimeter
  • Protecting against new attacks that do not carry recognised signatures
  • Mitigating the risks of DDoS attacks
  • Security compliance and vulnerability assessment
  • Forensic reconstructions to investigate breaches
  • Generation of live cyber-attacks to demonstrate the above solutions in operation.

John Carson, Managing Director at Phoenix Datacom Limited, said, "Despite the sustained global media attention around the sophistication and frequency of cyber-attacks, some customers do not receive budget for new security solutions until they are on the receiving end of a breach that affects reputation or bottom line - at which point the business demands a very swift response. Our cyber lab is an efficient place for customers to quickly assess and validate a broad range of integrated cyber-security protection solutions and dramatically reduce time to roll-out in their own environments."

Phoenix Datacom's cyber lab also provides demonstrations for improving network and application performance, as well as solutions for accessing, load balancing and aggregating network traffic.

Carson went on to say, "Some of our customers in Financial Organisations, Government Departments and Military services have already benefited from our live cyber lab demonstrations, and this has helped them accelerate adoption of new solutions to improve the security of their critical networks and information."
