LEMOYNE, Pa. (WHTM) -

Around 6:45 Monday morning a witness called police to report an active burglary at the Monro Muffler Shop on Market Street in Lemoyne.

The witness said they watched a male enter the building and come out a short time later carrying something. When police arrived they saw a male, matching the description from the witness and tried to stop him but he fled on foot.

Police followed the male into the 900 block of State Street where officers tried to stop him, the male wouldn't comply and police tased him and took him into custody.

The man is identified as 23-year-old William Charles Loper III, of Lemoyne.

He was taken to MDJ Elizabeth Beckley's office where he was arraigned on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking.

Loper's bail was set at $10,000 and he was taken to Cumberland County Prison to await a preliminary hearing on July 23.
