LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -
There's still no word on what caused a huge steel plant fire in Lancaster County Monday night.
The fire started shortly before 8 p.m. at High Steel Structures in East Lampeter Township. Dozens of firefighters were called to the scene. Several explosions could be heard coming from inside the plant.
"There were some very violent explosions, electrical arcing occurring inside the building to the point it was shaking the ground," said Lafayette Fire Department Chief Scott Hershey. "That was the point where we determined we were not going to send anyone inside until the power was cut. It was too much of a risk."
No one was injured. The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
