River District Building Being Renovated To Office Space

Posted:
Danville, VA -- A building in Danville's River District is getting new life.

Piedmont Hardware on Craghead Street has been vacant for years. But now, Rick Barker and his company are renovating it and turning it into office space. Barker says he plans to use the first floor for his company and then lease the upper floors.

Barker hopes this will bring people downtown and new companies to the River District.

"Our employees, our customers, our suppliers all respond to the energy that's present in the River District now, so to have adequate office and conference space is going to be a good boost for our business," said Barker.

Barker says he hopes to relocate his office and open the ground floor in November.
