Lynchburg, VA- A group of people moved to the Daniel's Hill district in Lynchburg for the sole purpose of improving the neighborhood.
Now one couple's mission has turned into the non-profit known as Urban Mountain Adventures.
It has been seven years since the couple who founded the program moved to the Daniel's Hill area. Now four other homes are occupied with people partnering to reach the community.
The group takes multiple trips each month like kayaking, hiking, and camping. They also offer weekly Bible studies in their homes.
This week a group of high school students came all the way from Michigan to help renovate area homes, but, they say it is the community that has made an impact on them.
The group from Michigan took area kids to Ivy Lake on Wednesday. They will be in town until Saturday; and Wednesday and Thursday night they will host a Vacation Bible School Program for the kids at Rivermont Baptist Church.
