HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Dauphin County woman and her father have been charged in the execution-style murder of her ex-husband two years ago.

Maria Sanutti-Spencer, 49, of Lower Paxton Township, and Anthony Rocco Franklin, 72, are accused of killing Frank Spencer inside his Bloomsburg-area home in July 2012, according to Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

Kane said a grand jury recommended the charges against Sanutti-Spencer, who is being held without bail, and Franklin, whose whereabouts are unknown.

According to the grand jury presentment, Sanutti-Spencer made repeated death threats to Spencer and openly talked of killing him to co-workers at the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission.

She also bragged to others about being responsible for a January 2010 fire that destroyed Spencer's home, and she threatened to burn the home of Spencer's girlfriend before it was set on fire eight months later, the presentment states.

Her father, described in the presentment as a career criminal who boasted he was once a hitman for the mob, also spoke to others of killing Spencer, according the grand jury.

Spencer reported death threats to police at least seven times between 2006 and 2012, and in 2012 he began telling family and friends that he was going to be murdered his former wife and her father.

A month after his divorce from Sanutti-Spencer became final, Spencer was shot with a rifle from a sniper's nest 115 feet from his front door, then shot in the head with a small caliber handgun.

His dog and his truck were both missing from the home. The dog was recovered in Middle Paxton Township, Dauphin County, approximately 12 miles from where Franklin was living, and the truck was found a few blocks from a Sunbury bar owned by his son.

The grand jury said Sanutti-Spencer continued to make threatening statements to Spencer's family and friends following the murder.

Sanutti-Spencer and Franklin were charged with counts including criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy, burglary, arson, attempted homicide, and terroristic threats.

Anyone with information regarding Franklin's whereabouts is asked to call state police in Bloomsburg at 570-387-4701.
