Police: 5 burglaries reported in Lower Paxton

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Police in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County said they are investigating five burglaries that were reported over the weekend.

A handgun and jewelry were stolen from a home in the 4900 block of Creek Drive sometime this summer, resulting in a loss of more than $7,000, and three piggy banks with an estimated $300 in change was taken from an apartment in the 4200 block of Catalina Lane sometime during the last week, police said in a news release.

Police said someone also forcibly entered the old Villa Teresa building at 1051 Avila Road over the weekend and caused damage.

The extent of the damage and whether or not anything is missing was not immediately determined, police said.

Police are also investigating a shed burglary in the 6000 block of Blue Ridge Avenue sometime over the last week.

Two Trek mountain bikes were removed from the shed. One is described as gold and black and the other is yellow and silver, and they were valued at $475 apiece.

Also, a storage unit in the 600 block of Pool Drive was forcibly entered and a blue and white 10-speed bicycle was stolen sometime during last week.
