Convicted felon caught with concealed gun in Lancaster, police say

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -

A Lancaster man who is not allowed to have a gun because of prior convictions was carrying a loaded handgun in his pants when he was arrested Tuesday, city police said.

Kenneth Lamar Gillis, 21, was charged with persons not to possess firearms and carrying a firearm without a license on top of the outstanding summary warrants that got him detained in the first place, according to police.

Police said before he was handcuffed, Gillis continually made movements toward his waistband area. Once he was was secured, officers found the 9mm handgun, which had fallen down into his pant leg.

Gillis, who has two prior felony drug convictions, was committed to Lancaster County Prison on $250,000 bail.
