HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) -

Authorities investigating a heist at a Dauphin County convenience store believe the same man robbed a cab driver at gunpoint.

Swatara Township police said the unknown man robbed the Turkey Hill at 2885 Paxton Street around 4:15 a.m. Tuesday. They also believe he held up the cabbie in the 3200 block of Sycamore Street just before 9 p.m. Monday.

Video surveillance from the store shows the robber pull a large black handgun with a scope from a bag. He demanded money from the register and fled after getting a pack of cigarettes and about $100 in cash, police said.

The cab driver said he picked up the man who robbed him at the Amtrak station in Harrisburg. When they reached Sycamore Street, he said the man pulled a black handgun from a bag and held it to his head.

He said the robber was in his late teens or early 20s, about 5'8” to 5'10" tall with a thin build and no facial hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt and a black ball cap with an inscription on the front.

Police have released a surveillance photo from the Turkey Hill. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call Swatara Township police at 717-564-2550.
