Kayla Brown joined the abc27 team in October of 2020 as the weekend digital producer.
Before joining the team Kayla went to California State University, Sacramento where she helped start the broadcast program for the award-winning State Hornet. While with the State Hornet her team won fourth place for best of show multimedia package at the 2020 Associated Collegiate Press College Journalism Convention and second place for best of show broadcast news story. While working on the State Hornet Kayla found herself as the social media manager and senior editor for Her Campus at Sacramento State. She was awarded as a student connect recipient for the 2019 NLGJA Conference.
Originally from Southern California, Kayla isn’t used to the cold or snow but she is finding her place on the East Coast.
