Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day raises money for children’s hospitals

Hometown Heroes are raising money for Children’s Miracle Network with ice cream.

Thursday was Miracle Treat Day at Dairy Queen.

For every blizzard bought, one dollar will go toward hospitals supported by Children’s Miracle Network.

Sales at local Dairy Queen restaurants will benefit Penn State Children’s Hospital.

Employees at the Dairy Queen in Palmyra said it was a busy day. Customers were calling to place orders the previous night.

“We actually had people yesterday called and pre-ordering 30, 40 blizzards at a time that we had to pre-make just because they wanted to help donate and pick them up today,” said Nathan Sheetz, a Dairy Queen employee.

To date, more than $135 million has been raised through Miracle Treat Day.
