HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) - Hometown heroes are helping to defeat hunger.
Department of Human Services employees prepared meals at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank on Monday.
They want to draw attention to the people in the state who are struggling with hunger.
"There is something we can all do," DHS Secretary Teresa Miller said. "We can all donate to our local shelter, we can all volunteer our time. we can participate in our local food banks, whether volunteering or through donations to help make sure people have the food they need to eat."
DHS is also taking part in the SNAP challenge, asking people to live on $4 a day for a week.
