You can be a Hometown Hero by stopping and shopping at a local animal shelter.

The Humane Society of Harrisburg is getting ready to open it’s “Furget Me Not” retail store at the facilty on Grayson Road.

The expanded area features items from leashes, to candles, treats, and bowls.

Many local business creations will be sold at the store.

With about 20% of the proceeds going to help dogs, cats, and other animals that call the shelter home.

“We keep it low costs. We’ve really done a lot of work in expanding our offerings here because we wanted to be a resource for people who need lower costs items and .You can really get a lot of stuff here for your family and your pets,” said Kristi Kleinfelter, Adoption Center Team Leader, HSHA.
