Harrisburg Police Commissioner Thomas Carter is a Hometown Hero for taking a dip for a good cause.
Carter climbed in a dunk to help raise $5,000 to help kick off the first-ever partnership between the Dauphin County Library System and the Homeland Center Retirement Community.
Carter says its an opportunity to give back to an organization that has given so much to the city and its residents.
“They have been vested here. They have been here since the Civil War days, they plan on staying here,” Carter said. “It’s a great working opportunity for local residents, so they are giving back.”
The money raised will help fund activities at the center.
