CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Among the many races on Tuesday night was a one-on-one election for a judge’s seat in Cumberland County.

Judge Thomas Placey is leaving the bench. Abc27 Chief Investigator Kendra Nichols has been reporting on allegations of misconduct against Placey. That matter is still being sorted out.

The candidates, Michelle Sibert and Kathy Silcox cross-filed which means they appeared on both Democratic and Republican ballots.

Michelle Sibert won both the Democratic and Republican ballots to claim the Cumberland County judges seat. Sibert won the Republican ballot 14,833 votes (56.4%) to Silcox’s 11,461 votes (43.6%). Sibert narrowly won the Democratic ballot 5,557 votes (50.8%) to Silcox’s 5,383 (49.2%).
