Staff Nurse

JOB SUMMARY:
The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. This is a 16-bed multidisciplinary unit offering excellent nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 or 1:1, so you as the RN, can truly make an impact on individuals. Our team uses advanced technologies such as Swan- Gantz, Continuous Veno-Venus Hemofiltration/Dialysis (CVVH/D), and Nitric Oxide to treat: 1) Multisystem organ failure 2) Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome 3) Sepsis 4) Hematology/Oncology 4) GI Bleeds 5) Acute renal/liver failure 6) Acid-base and electrolyte imbalances 7) Diabetes Mellitus. Orientation is 6-8 weeks with a consistent preceptor and ACLS is required within 3 months of hire. CCRN certification is encouraged and financially rewarded.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse with license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania required OR Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit required.
6 months RN experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:
Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.

Licensed Practical Nurse

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of a licensed provider (e.g. RN, Physician) and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, provides practical nursing care for patients referred to the Clinic within the scope of LPN practice and in accordance with the standards/procedures of Penn State Health St. Joseph . An incumbent also performs related support activities (e.g. answering phones, checking patients in/out, assembling charts, etc) as required.
An incumbent uses initiative in carrying out recurring tasks within the scope of practice and established standards of
care. An RN or Physician provides specific instructions for new, difficult or unusual tasks, and is consulted when unusual/ unfamiliar circumstances are encountered. Incumbents are also accountable for developing collaborative relationships with members of the clinic at all associated facilities; participates in clinic-related business meetings, maintaining knowledge and skills levels by attending educational offerings as required.

Education:

– Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Experience:

– One year of related work experience, preferably in a medical clinic or acute care healthcare environment.

License/Certification:
– Current certification as a registered LPN.
– Current Healthcare BLS Certification.

Medical Office Associate / Medical Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision, performs general receptionist, registration, and billing duties. Duties include: answering and screening telephone calls, scheduling appointments, entering patient charges and payments along with third party billing information and other pertinent information into the computer. Priorities of this position are patient registration, customer service and ensuring patient flow is optimal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Ability to speak, read, write and understand the English language
Ability to lift 25 pounds
Occasional kneeling, pushing/pulling and reaching
Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment
Ability to deal courteously with patients
Ability to maintain effective working relationship with other employees

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience working in a medical office preferred

Switchboard Operator

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible to provide 24/7 telephone communication, triage, campus-wide emergency line and provide paging assistance throughout the Institution, including the Hospital, Medical Group, College of Medicine, and across all locations. Responsible to accurately process a high volume and wide variety of calls by determining caller?s specific needs and connecting call to correct area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma plus 1 year job related experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Critical thinking skills and good judgment under pressure required.
Ability to understand and follow procedures required.
Excellent customer services skills required.
Ability to respond calmly in emergencies required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Switchboard experience strongly preferred.
Medical office or emergency dispatch experience preferred.
Experience in a high volume call center preferred.
