The purpose of Harrisburg Area Roller Derby (HARD) is to promote, foster and perpetuate the sport of
roller derby in the greater Capital area through competitions, charity events, and volunteer
opportunities. In addition, it fosters the physical, mental, and emotional growth of area persons
through the sport of roller derby.
HARD was formed in 2006 by a group of driven and passionate community members who bond over
the sport of roller derby. Bouts and practices are at the Olympic Skate Center in Enola, PA.
“We have touched the lives of many women and have given them an outlet to do something empowering for themselves,” tells skater Fresh Meat Cassidy.
When not practicing, or participating in bouts, skaters devote much of their time
supporting the local community and sponsor events in effort to promote causes in-line with HARD’s
