HERSHEY, Pa. (WHTM) — Hersheypark is letting guests own a piece of coaster history once again.

According to a post from Hersheypark’s Facebook page, the pieces of wood from the former Wildcat coaster were available for purchase at Hersheypark Supply Co. which is the gift shop located outside the park.

The wood pieces were sold online but were sold out within minutes. The park has stated the gift shop will be selling 200 pieces of wood in-store.

The shop, which is open daily, has 500 pieces of wood from the coaster up for sale. Each piece of wood comes with a certificate of authenticity. It has the original Wildcat logo and the new Wildcat’s Revenge logo engraved on the wood.

Each piece is 8″ high by 5.25″ wide by 1.25″ thick.

According to the park, each piece of wood will be $50. The wood for these pieces was harvested from The Wildcat during the demolition process, cut, and laser-etched by the Hersheypark Maintenance team.

The Wildcat roller coaster closed on July 31, 2022, and will be replaced by an all-new coaster, Wildcat’s Revenge.

Wildcat’s Revenge is expected to open in the summer of 2023.
