Women’s commission has role in Pennsylvania politics

Womens History

March is Women’s History Month and ABC27 is taking a look at the Pennsylvania Commission for Women revived by Governor Tom Wolf by executive order.

An impressive list of volunteers makes up the commission. The group advises Wolf on policies and legislation that affects women and girls, from economic to civic. The commission also has STEM programs to inspire young girls.

First Lady Frances Wolf serves as honorary chair.

“What are the issues to help Pennsylvanians? Balance work life and home life and to do it smartly. What are those issues that feed into that, and I think that’s what the commission continues to focus on. We can talk about successes, but there is so very much work to do,” Frances Wolf said.
