Police look for shoplifters; warn of scam

Police are investigating a scam and several thefts this week.

Carlisle police say be careful if someone contacts you about a purchase such as a virus software and then asks you to download additional programs. During that process, the scammers could access your computer and get personal information like your bank account.

Lower Paxton Township police, in Dauphin County, want to question a man who may have information about items stolen from a purse. The theft happened at the Giant on Union Deposit Road on April 9. Call Lower Paxton police at 717-657-5656.

Derry Township police, in Dauphin County, are looking for a woman who stole clothes from the Old Navy outlet store at the Tanger Outlets of Hershey on April 11. Police say she filled two or three bags of clothing valued at over $600 and fled in a black SUV driven by a male. Call the police department at 717-534-2202.

Fairview Township police, in York County, are looking for two men who stole more than $200 worth of items from the Giant in New Cumberland. Call the department at 717-901-5267.
