Restaurant Report: Burger King fails 3rd inspection

Restaurant Report

Department of Agriculture food safety inspectors returned to a repeat offender this week.

Burger King on Lincoln East Way in Chambersburg was out of compliance for the third time this year, this time with 11 violations. The inspector found a car jack was used as a leg for part of the production line and mold buildup in an ice machine. Ceiling tiles were missing, broken or damaged, and the food prep area was under dirty ventilation ducts.

Additionally, inspectors said the service door has a gap and does not protect against insects, rodents, and other animals. Clean food equipment was stored in dirty bins, a wall in the dish wash area is damaged, and several areas and pieces of equipment were dirty.

Places with no violations include James Bar in Enola, Grandview Elementary School in Chambersburg, Nashville Volunteer Fire Company in Spring Grove, and Old Sled Works in Duncannon.

The Department of Agriculture has a searchable database of Pennsylvania restaurant inspections on its website.
