The Department of Agriculture found food debris and pink slime during this week’s restaurant inspections.
Dad’s Garage Grill & Burger House on East Main Street in Mechanicsburg was out of compliance with 20 violations. The inspection report says old food debris and trash were found on the floor and a pan of bacon with no covering was being stored under lighting with dead bugs, grease, and dirt on it. A grease drip was forming on the hood system over the food contact surfaces, and the facility does not have required cleanup equipment and sanitizer for bodily fluids.
Waynesboro Diner on East Main Street in Waynesboro was out of compliance with 23 violations. The inspection report says old crust and food residue were found on the deli slicer blade. There was a pink slime-like substance on the ice machine, several toilets did not flush, and the inspector found bedding and clothing in the restaurant, indicating someone was sleeping there.
Primanti Brothers on Lititz Pike in Lancaster was out of compliance with 13 violations. The inspector found employees preparing food without wearing beard covers, old food residue in the shake maker at the bar, black and tan residue inside the ice maker, and clean dish racks stored on the floor.
Establishments with no violations include Grazery in Carlisle, Cocoaplex Cinemas in Hershey, La Petite Patisserie in Lancaster, and Pasta Plus in York.
