LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A fatal crash closed a portion of US 322 in Lancaster County and left one woman deceased on Friday morning.

According to PennDOT and Pennsylvania State Police, the crash closed the road in both directions between Pumping Station Road and Speedwell Forge Road in Elizabeth Township, Lancaster County around 11 a.m.

State Police say two vehicles, which did not have any passengers other than the drivers, were involved. An 87-year-old woman died in the crash and a 42-year-old man was sent to the hospital with head injuries.

abc27 is withholding the deceased woman’s name until it is confirmed that next of kin have been notified.

State Police believe alcohol was involved and are investigating the crash as a possible DUI.

The road was closed for approximately one hour Friday afternoon.
