YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — One person was killed and another injured in a shooting at a York County movie theater.
According to the West Manchester Township Police Department, the shooting happened at 10:17 p.m. Monday night inside a theater at West Manchester Regal Cinemas.
According to police, a man and a woman were found injured on the scene and were taken to WellSpan York Hospital.
The coroner was dispatched to the hospital and reported the death of an adult male. The coroner also said the woman survived but will not comment further on her condition.
The person who died has been identified as Andre White Jr, 22, of Carlisle, Cumberland County.
Police said the suspect fled the theater after the shooting.
Police say they believe the shooting was targeted and there is no indication that there is additional danger to the public.
A theater employee who did not want to be identified said the theater was more crowded than usual for a Monday because many school districts in the area were closed.
The theater was evacuated after the shooting and didn’t reopen until shortly after Noon on Tuesday.
