DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — According to Dauphin County 911 dispatchers and the American Red Cross, a structure fire at the Genesis Court Apartments, located at 25 Genesis Court in Middletown, started on the evening of August 11. Twenty-three people total, 12 adults and 11 kids, and multiple pets were displaced by the fire.

The American Red Cross, in collaboration with the Middletown School District, is on-site to provide support to affected people. The 11 kids’ ages are from infants to 16-years-old.

Fire teams are investigating the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross reports no known injuries related to the fire. As of 9:15 p.m., the fire has been put out.

Monet Cunningham, a resident affected by the fire damage, returned home to signs of the fire. “I could see all the smoke, it was a cloud of smoke, and I was just I thought the worst and it just so happened to be true. I thank God we’re okay, things can be replaced but you can’t replace a life,” Cunningham said.

Dauphin County 911 dispatchers stated multiple fire companies responded to the scene. The American Red Cross is working to provide temporary shelter for the 23 affected people.
