DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Swatara Township Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Walmart Supercenter on Grayson Road off Route 322 in Dauphin County. The alleged shooter was taken into custody Sunday evening, police reported.

Police said the shooting, which occurred around 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, was an isolated incident between two people.

The suspect fled the scene, according to the Swatara Township Police Department, and the victim sustained a minor injury.

As of 6:47 p.m., Swatara Township Police said they had identified, located, and apprehended the suspect with the help of the Harrisburg Bureau of Police. The suspect was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Luis David Jose of Harrisburg. Jose was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering other people, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief, according to police.

Jose was denied bail during arraignment and is being held at the Dauphin County Prison pending a preliminary hearing, according to the Swatara Township Police Department.

The Walmart remained closed to the public until 6 a.m. on Aug. 22, police said, although the location was reported safe by police as of 6:47 Sunday evening.
