LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — One person is dead, and four others are hurt after a crash involving several vehicles, PennDOT said.
The crash happened on Route 30 West at Malleable Road in West Hempfield Township around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. A spokesperson for PennDOT said some of the victims were children.
Emergency dispatchers said two people were flown to Hershey Medical, and four others were transported to local hospitals. Their current condition is not known.
Police spent most of the night investigating. In a preliminary report released Sunday, the investigation revealed a silver Chrysler 200 was traveling east on Route 30 when it crossed the median and struck a Kia Spectra vehicle head-on.
The victim killed was pronounced dead at the scene. Route 30 was closed until about 11 p.m.
