HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Police in Harrisburg looking for the man who they say shot multiple people during the afternoon hours of Saturday, Sept. 9.

According to Lt. Kyle Gautsch with the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, the shooting occurred in the 1800 block of North Street in Harrisburg.

Police are searching for 47-year-old Shawn Jason who they allege shot three people, including a 4-year-old child. All three victims were taken to the hospital and expected to be okay.

The violence unfolded around 1:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of North Street. Police say the shooting erupted after an argument between neighbors.

Officers and the Dauphin County crisis response team surrounded the home for hours because they thought Jason was inside.

After rushing into the home they found it empty and Jason knew where to be found.

abc27 spoke to a man who saw this all unfolding.

“As I was going into the house, I heard gunfire sounds like, automatic shotgun, boom boom boom boom so I didn’t pay no attention to it because it happens here all the time, you know its like birds chirping you hear right now if I hear gunfire its normal to me. So, I said let me walk down the street just in case and I see a friend of mine struggling to stand up in the middle of the street. I said Yo what’s wrong with you, he said they shot me they shot me. I said you alright and he fell into my chest, and I thought he was going to die right there but then I put him in the car that came by just a random car, and they went to the hospital,” said Neighbor Steve Stephens.

“Shawn Jason should be considered armed and dangerous; he is wanted on charges of criminal attempt homicide, aggravated assault, firearms violations, and burglary,” said Harrisburg Bureau of Police Captain Terry Wealand.

Anyone with information on Jason’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Harrisburg Police Bureau, at 717-558-6900
