DERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — On August 21 around 8:39 a.m. a vehicle crash occurred on State Route 422 (West Chocolate Avenue) in front of the Hershey’s Technical Center.

Derry Township Police say a large SUV carrying three adults and two children was traveling west on Rt. 422 when it veered off the north side of the road, went down an embankment, and struck a large tree head-on.

All passengers were transported to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center by Life Lion EMS for treatment of their injuries, according to police.

Police say injuries are described as serious, but current conditions are not known.

All westbound lanes of State Route 422 (West Chocolate Avenue) between University Drive and Sipe Avenue were closed for several hours due to a crash investigation.

Derry Township Police are also asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them at (717) 534-2202 or by submitting a tip to their Crimewatch page.
