LOWER PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — Three people were killed in a Lower Paxton Township crash early Thursday morning.
Pennsylvania State Police say troopers attempted to stop a vehicle after it was discovered the registered owner had an outstanding felony warrant. The trooper attempted to stop the vehicle around 1:35 a.m. and State Police say the vehicle failed to stop.
State Police initiated a pursuit during which the fleeing vehicle exceeded speeds of 130 MPH. Troopers say they lost sight of the vehicle in the vicinity of Interstate 81 North near Exit 72A, at the North Mountain Road overpass.
State Police say when troopers were canvasing the area, they were able to locate the vehicle, which crashed into a tree. State Police say that all three occupants died.
State Police say the three people who were killed in the crash were 37-year-old Eric Carl of New Cumberland, 26-year-old Carly Taylor-Robinson of Harrisburg, and 33-year-old Darun Alexander of Harrisburg.
State Police say the investigation continues at this time.
