YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — A man died after a shooting in York on Wednesday, July 6, according to the York City Police Department. The York County Coroner has confirmed that the man was 27-year-old Shaheim Carr.

At 11:23 a.m. on Wednesday, York City police responded to the 300 block of W. Philadelphia Street for a reported shooting.

When police arrived, they found a Carr with a gunshot wound. Officials say Carr died at the scene near his home. Dozens of evidence markers were seen on the ground near the scene.

Deputy Coroner Jacob Clevenger responded to the scene to certify the death. Carr’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

An autopsy was completed on Thursday, July 7, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown. It concluded that Carr died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police have located the suspect’s vehicle, a gold 2015 Ford Fusion with a Pennsylvania tag that reads KCF0338. It’s unclear if the suspect has been located.

This is York City’s 14th homicide this year.
