The school said in a letter, if it doesn’t follow the state mandate, it could be exposed to lawsuits and personal liability.
However, in the Central York district, it’s easy to get a mask exemption. They do not require a doctor’s note. A mother of an immunocompromised child is frustrated because she feels her district is not properly enforcing the mandate.
“I just feel like, even with the mandate, nothing’s gonna change in at least central schools,” Lauren Grafton, mother of an immunocompromised fourth-grader, said.
Central York has not responded to a request for comment, yet.
