YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — York City police say that a shooting took place in the area of the 400 block of Roosevelt Avenue on Monday morning. They responded to the scene shortly after 10 a.m. on Aug. 22.

Police located a 30-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound at the scene. He was transported to York Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, York City police report.

York City police on Thursday reported that they had identified a suspect using video surveillance that showed someone shooting from a white Hyundai Sonata. They obtained the vehicle’s registration and combined that with additional intelligence to identify Domminique Salisbury as the suspect.

Police arrested Salisbury, who has been charged with aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited firearm, and other weapons offenses, according to the York City Police Department.

“It’s been a nice neighborhood. I’ve lived here for like two years and just recently in the past six months, it’s been all kinds of shootings and gotten more foot traffic,” said Regina Spears, who lives with her two daughters near where the shooting took place. “We’re definitely planning on moving soon.”

“It’s just a shame that this is happening,” Spears added. “It makes everybody fearful for their children and themselves.”
