4 miles of Turnpike to close for emergency pothole repair

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – An emergency pothole repair will close a four-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between the Gettysburg Pike and Harrisburg West interchanges Thursday night.

The eastbound lanes will be closed at 8 p.m. and remain closed until 5 a.m. Friday, Turnpike spokesman Carl DeFebo said in a news release.

All eastbound traffic will be detoured off the toll road at the Gettysburg Pike Interchange.

The pothole on a bridge deck has temporarily closed the eastbound right lane at milepost 235, about a half-mile before the Gettysburg Pike Interchange.

DeFabo said drivers should anticipate delays in the area, especially between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
