Cara Achterberg is an author from New Freedom, PA. She was here today to discuss her book, Girls’ Weekend.Dani, Meg, and Charlotte have bonded over babies, barbeques, and backyards, but when they escape for a girls’ weekend away, they can’t bring themselves to return to lives that don’t seem to fit anymore. All three of these women thought they would be different. None of them thought they’d be facing down forty and still wondering when life starts. What they do when they realize where they’re headed is both inspiring and wildly entertaining.-Girl’s Weekend Synopsis.

“I first moved to PA about 12 years ago from Maryland’s Eastern Shore. It wasn’t a move I wanted to make, but the plant where my husband worked was closed and we landed here. I was home with an infant, a very intense preschooler, and a first-grader who definitely didn’t fit the mold. My husband was traveling for weeks on end for his job and I knew no one. Plus, I missed my friends from the Eastern Shore. I wanted to run away. So, I did – every afternoon during naptime while I worked on this book,” tells Achterberg.
