Hair dryers recalled for fire, burn and shock hazards

Xtava is recalling about 235,000 hair dryers after receiving dozens of reports of power cords overheating, melting, exploding or catching fire.

The company has 18 reports of burns and two reports of a minor electrical shock, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

The Allure and Allure Pro 2200W hair dryers have a label with the SKU number XTV010001, XTV010001N, XTV010002, or XTV010002N.

The hair dryers were sold at,,,, and other websites from October 2014 through August 2018.

The commission said people should stop using the hair dryers and contact Xtava to receive a free replacement.
