Johnsonville recalls pork patties that may have rubber

Johnsonville is recalling more than 48,000 pounds of raw ground pork patty products that may be contaminated with “extraneous materials,” specifically black rubber, the USDA said.

The problem was discovered when the company received three complaints about black rubber in Johnsonville Grillers Cheddar Cheese and Bacon frozen pork patties.

The recalled patties were produced and packaged on Sept. 27, 2018, Oct. 17, 2018, and Oct. 18, 2018.

They were sold in 24-ounce cartons with “Best Flavor By” dates of 7/24/2019, 8/13/2019, and 8/14/2019 and the establishment number “34225” printed on the carton end.

People who bought the pork patties should throw them away or return them to their store.
