Toy xylophones sold at Barnes and Noble, Urban Outfitters, and other stores have been recalled because the ball on the end of the beater stick can separate, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The recall is for Petit Collage musical jumbo wooden xylophones sold from August through February for about $24.

“Petit Collage” and “TT.1902.0617” are printed on the bottom.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said there has been one report of the ball separating from the beater rod and one report of the ball being loose.

The commission said people should take the recalled beater sticks away from children and contact the company for a free replacement.
