YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Police and the coroner’s office are investigating the death of a man found inside his city home early Wednesday.
Lester Herbin Jr., 47, was found inside his home in the 400 block of Salem Avenue by family around 3:30 a.m.
There were multiple sharp force trauma wounds to the body, York County Coroner Pam Gay said.
“They called him Booter,” said Lora Bobbitt, who knew the victim. “That was his nickname.”
Bobbitt told ABC27 News that Herbin worked on her house.
“I’m really shaken,” she added.
Janice Wright, who lives across from the victim, said Herbin lived inside the home with a younger man. She said she was shocked by the incident.
“Everyone knew him and we just never knew anything like this would happen,” Wright said. “It’s like now we don’t know what really happened.”
The cause and manner of death are pending.
