CV approves 2 percent tax hike

News

The Cumberland Valley School District has voted to approve a budget for the next school year, which includes a tax increase of almost two percent.

The average homeowner would pay an additional $42 a year. The proposed budget plan is more than $116 million.

The district said it will need to rely heavily on local funds, which make up about 75 percent of the budget. Only two percent of funding will come from federal sources.

A final vote on the budget is scheduled for June 1.
