Deadly crash closes Route 39 in Dauphin County

HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. (WHTM) – Two people were killed in a head-on crash in South Hanover Township Wednesday night.

The two car crash happened at 7:18 p.m. on Route 39 (Hershey Road) at Robin Lane in the area of Giant Foods and Turkey Hill.

The two killed were male drivers and they were not wearing their seatbelts.

Pennsylvania State Police said the driver of a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina was traveling west on Rt. 39 and crossed into the opposite lane of traffic hitting a 2006 Honda CRV head-on.

The road was closed for close to three hours and traffic was routed through the store parking lot.

State police are still investigating.
