MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Twin Ponds in Mechanicsburg hosted a post-election unity dinner Tuesday night.
The complex was home to the Donald Trump campaign office of Cumberland County since April.
Lisa Patton organized the dinner. She said the timing was right.
“I decided the morning that Trump was elected,” said Patton, “I knew there were going to be divisions, and I wanted to do my part to help people heal.”
Republicans, Democrats and Independents were invited.
Dana Haas voted for Hillary Clinton. She said the loss was tough to swallow.
“I was shocked,” said Haas. “It was devastating, but I kept going.”
Haas said that it was important for her to attend the unity event.
“There has been a lot of division,” said Haas. “But we have to come together and be one nation.”
Haas said that it will take some people more time to come around, but she is optimistic that most of the
Clinton supporters will get past the disappointment.Get breaking news, weather and traffic on the go. Download our News App and our Weather App for your phone and tablet.
