HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – Police are investigating after the body of an elderly California man was found in a Swatara Township creek.
William Pettis, 69, of Venice Beach, was found in Spring Creek, near the Greenbelt parking area, by someone walking the trail just after 9:30 a.m., township police said.
Police said Pettis had traveled to the Harrisburg area by bus for a family function. Family members told investigators he suffered from dementia.
Authorities believe Pettis fell into the creek. They said no foul play is suspected.
An autopsy will be performed on Thursday.
